As I discussed in the last post, I did goal setting last weekend. And just as I was starting to think about what goals I should be setting: for my business, my health, and my relationships, I thought well,” I should be looking to improve my life by 10%”.
10% Better. That sounds good.
And somewhere inside me I thought, “That’s bullsh*t”
You should make your life TEN TIMES BETTER or not waste your time.
In fairness, my business has improved by 5 Times already this year. But if you asked me two years ago if it was possible to improve by that amount, I would have doubted it. I did not believe. I limited myself. I didn’t allow myself to consider the possibilities. Ive spent 23 years in the investing world. Ive forgotten more than many others know. I say that because its true, not to brag. I began to learn about investing at 12, I studied at Wharton etc… Ive never stopped.
I don’t want to settle. I don’t want incremental improvement. I want a breakthrough. I want to reach a whole new level. I want my fitness to be exceptional. I want my business to exceed the levels I believe I’m capable of.
I think that the smarter you are, the more conservative you can be. And that helps you in many important areas of life. We don’t take foolish risks. Don’t dream too big. Play it safe. Don’t get your hopes up.
But there comes a point where you need to take those risks and be on the ledge.
And stop settling.
I hope you set big goals this year. I hope you find that voice inside yourself that says I want a life that’s TEN TIMES BETTER, not 10% Better.
Keep Going!
